Sock Drive for Ukraine

WeCommunity has partnered with Anna Beitina to assist the children--and adults-- suffering in Ukraine. We all know of the Russia-Ukraine War occurring as of now (2023) and we believe that we should do everything in our power to help them through these trying times. Ukraine is also part of our community and abet this country. Anna Beitina has kindly accepted to start a sock fundraiser and send the collected donations to refugee centers, orphanages, and other establishments where help is most likely needed. She believed that one of the first steps we can take to provide aid is to start with a necessity that is often underrated, socks. Socks protect peoples feet from common germs, blisters, and other diseases like Athlete's foot; more commonly, socks are just used to keep your feet warm. Without a necessity like socks, common feats such as walking can be turned into absolute nightmares with each step being more painful than the last. Anna Beitina helped us solve this problem as she purchased socks with money donated from our branch in the US. The goal of this project was the provide Ukranians with the most basic of essentials which still provide comfort. The socks shown in the image above are just some of the socks actually donated with the $157.
